WAHOkay guys, so it’s been a while. Things have finally calmed down a bit and I can get back to working on this site once in a while.

So, first things first. It was a while ago, but I did mention trying Aion, Champions Online and Star Trek Online. I have tried all three and I’ll write quick verdicts on all three in a sec.

Also, a review of Mass Effect 2. Managed to get my hands on it for a while. You’re jealous, I know.

List form is the name of the game for these mini reviews…

  1. Champions Online: Not great. Solid idea, but poor execution. It was cool to have the transport modes (like flying and speed and such) so early, but the game play itself got stale very quickly. Rush in, punch, punch, kick, power punch, repeat. Or, shoot, shoot shoot shoot, shoot shoot, other shot. You get the idea. I wouldn’t recommend it. Unless you really liked City of Heroes.
  2. Aion: I see the merit. I really do. Great concept, but not my style. I may have come into it expecting a little more than yet another WoW clone. Cuz that’s basically what it is. Just… prettier. I’ll give them that. Aion is awfully pretty. Too much anime style for my tastes however.
  3. Star Trek Online: Playing the Open Beta. It’s pretty good so far, but it kinda feels like the ground-based stuff was an afterthought. The space fighting is very Star Trek. The ground fighting feel like a dumbed down third person tactical shooter. I’m sure they’re planning on making it feel more solid, but for now, ground combat is not the fun part for me. I would definitely recommend this for all Star Trek fans and space combat aficionados.

On to Mass Effect 2. Link to the review here.

I hope to be able to update more often from here on out. No promises though.

All these things I cannot do without…

zomg!

Well, we've had to take down the TF2 server. Long story.

Also, I dont really have the time of late to update the site, as is obvious. We're workin on something big, and hopefully we'll be back to full speed soon.

A few pointers:

  • Champions Online comes out soon, gonna give it a shot and do a quick review if I can.
  • Aion also comes out soon, same story.
  • Trying to get into the Star Trek Online beta. No luck yet.

WoW: Cataclysm was announced a lil bit ago. Here's the site. Those bastards at Blizzard keep me coming back for more. I swear there's cocaine in the game or something... Virtual crack. Thanks Penny-Arcade. Gabe knows where I'm comin' from.

Takin' what we're givin' cuz we're workin' for a livin'.

Memories...

balls...I remember this...

I hear Battlefield 1943 is quite a something. What the something is, I'm not quite sure. 1942 was rather delectable, so I imagine 1943 can only increase in flavor... I suppose we shall see...

Once again into the breaches...

Insanity of outragous proportions

ZOMG!If you've been keeping up with the WoW forums (and no sane person probably does), you're already aware of the following. Also, if you don't play WoW, this wont matter to you either. Skip the next couple of paragraphs.

There has been a lot of hoo-hah going around on the WoW Forums about new playable races. They're saying that in the next expansion, you'll be able to roll a Goblin on Horde or a Worgen on Alliance. Crazy I know. Hear me out.

I had the fortune to be trolling the forums at the time of this announcement. Apparently, someone at MMOgamersomethingorother was in the middle of data-mining the latest Player Test Realm data, and found the following textures. Here's the story.

Anyways, they've found some new Halloween Masks. Good for them. Granted that the worgen masks don't make a whole lot of sense, this does not mean that Goblins and Worgen are the new playable races. This does make some sense however. Here's a thread on the forums that makes a pretty good case for the alliance getting Worgen. In my opinion, people are getting far too excited about this. While Worgen would be cool, something about it doesn't smell right to me. My thought is that the masks are simply a Halloween Event thing. Maybe Worgen/Werewolves are the theme this year? Who knows... Blizzcon is coming up. I'm sure we'll know more about it then. I'll be sure to mention it when I know something for sure.

Moving on...

I dont know if you've heard, but Harmonix and MTV Games are working on a new network that will allow the common user to produce their own Rock Band tracks and sell them on a "song store". They say that this is a great way for fledgling bands to get their name out there. Give em a boost. Honestly, I don't see that happening the way they think. It is, after all, the internet. This really means that every emo fuck with a guitar and a computer will be able to put up their songs about how "my blood turns to ice" and "The strings of my guitar cut deeper than the abyss that is my blackened heart" and so on. This will not end well.

If you can't stand the heat, too fucking bad for you, I guess...

And so it begins...

blarWell, it has finally happened. Hell hath frozen over, pigs are flying all over the damned place and George W. Bush actually managed to finish that beginner level Sudoku puzzle he's been workin' on for 3 years.

I'm talking, of course, about this.

I knew it would happen eventually. Just not this soon. It's all over folks. Fortunately, I came prepared.

Falling asleep while they are dropping the bombs...
