I just finished the standard game play for Plants Vs Zombies, it was a lot of fun, but only took me 8 hours of game play. Anyway, it is a fun game and worth the $9.99 on Steam.
Plants Vs Zombies is a game seeded with sun filled days and shroomed up nights. Starting out in the vastness of a front lawn, you are tasked with defending your brains using nothing more than killer plants and kick ass lawn mowers. Then you must defend your back yard, even zombies love it from behind. The pool presents an interesting challenge as you struggle to plant Lilly pads and plants to defend it. The game moves to every angle of defense and ends fighting on your roof. The roof requires every plant to be in a pot and makes the Lilly pads look like a day at the pond, finally you battle the evil Dr. Zomboss. Dr. Zomboss only takes damage when you can see the head of his evil robot creation, and at that point he is getting ready to unleash a hellish fireball or an ice ball that would freeze the nuts off an Eskimo. It doesn’t take long to realize that a Jalapeno destroys the ice balls and an Ice-Shroom freezes out the fire balls. Eventually Dr. Zomboss falls to your brutal attacks of peas, watermelon and the like and you are safe from zombie brain eaters. After a break-away pop number you are free to play mini-games, survival modes and work on your Zen Garden. Overall PvZ takes 8 out of 10 in my Tower Defense book. I felt the game was good and full of tongue and cheek, but overall it was a short game. I would have loved a sewer attack level or a night roof thrill, but after 5 levels with 10 rounds each, you are free from Zombie attack. You are free to replay the game, Crazy Dave will even pick three plants for you, but it is not “new”. I have to say usually this is a deal breaker for me with a game, if I’m done in less than 24 hours, it’s not worth recommending, but this game is full of mini-games that take anywhere from 5 minutes a round to unending assaults, so the value of a quick match before you walk out the door, to an all night zombie fest is available. I finally have to give props to the graphics, perfectly simplistic, I played about half of this game on my Aspire One Netbook, and the graphics were great with no lags, stops or drops. I know this isn't really game related, but this video is kind of hard to ignore.
Frankly, I was surprised how long it took for this kind of thing to happen. I know we've all thought about it at one time or another... at least, I hope so. In other news, I just managed to trade in my entire collection of PS2 games and a few 360 and PS3 games and what not so I could get my hands on Killzone 2 and Uncharted: Drakes Fortune. Both of these games were apparent "must haves" according to The Goth and the gaming community at large. I'll get some review-flavored word vomit posted when I can. In case anyone is interested, here's a few of the highlights from my game trade-ins that I found (somewhat) amusing: - PS2 Game System (with cables): $25
- Guitar Hero 2 (with controller): $11
- Dead or Alive 2 (PS2): $0.55 (yes, that's right, 55 cents.)
- Xenosaga (PS2): $0.83
- Final Fantasy X (PS2): $5.50 (not bad for a PS2 game, eh?)
- Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (PS3): $13.20 (jeez, how much they going to resell it for?)
All in all, I traded in 21 items and got back about $100. Basterds... Oh well, it was enough to get what I needed (you heard me).
I think I'm on to something here... /Remus |

If you've seen the ever-cryptic teaser for Mass Effect 2, you are as hungry as I am for some new details about the game's plot. This site has some info on a possible leak of some of the plot of this much anticipated game. Still pretty abstruse if you ask me.
Also, there are other rumors flying around them "webs" about our good buddies Blizzard working on a 5th game. Gossip Gamers has the details. I would love a new MMO from Blizz, gods know I'm bored to shit of WoW. And no, I don't want a new expansion. The game is dead, give it up guys. Nothin' but the rain, Sir... /Remus |

So the TF2 server is back up and has been for a bit now. We told a number of people through other means but forgot to tell everyone here. So the TF2 server is alive. The Left 4 Dead server is still in limbo, we have it, it works, it's stable.... But I'm not sure I like it as a person, so it might not be back. Just an update and a Twinkie Kole |
